Daily Patriot shining through the pages

Martin Kimaru and William Kazungu are nominated finalists for the 2011 CNN African Journalism Awards  in the Art and Culture Award section for their riveting piece titled 'Kenya Through Vintage Eyes' for the Daily Patriot Feature section. The piece took a spyglass view by contrasting Kenya's rich history as a country and that of vintage cars at the same time tackling issues of colonization and Kenya's development with a satirical tone.

The award ceremony is set to take place in June 2011.

"We honestly were not expecting to get nominated, let alone qualify as finalists. Martin and I simply love and enjoy writing and working on Automobiles. The piece was just a timely creative outlet of what we love the most: Cars and Kenya," said William.
