A total of 30 tonnes of food items was donated by all the sponsors and Ksh 20 million raised to help purchase other non-food items for the IDPs.
"It is important for people to offer assistance to the less fortunate. These people were living normal lives before the post election violence. Let's not forget to make our contributions to ease their lives because this could have been us," said Lilian Koki.
When asked to comment on the initiative, Susan Mumbua said, "I think the food drive exceeded our expectations. Corporate Social Responsibility is the heart of Platinum Media Group. Nothing is ever too little when it comes to lending a hand."
The donations are set to benefit IDP camps in Nyanza and Central.
